This invention is still played in Europe until today.

Gambling, however, was prohibited in many countries. This prompted the Blanc brothers to introduce it to the land of glitters and sunshine - Monte Carlo. Monte Carlo is one of the world's leading tourist attractions. But what attracts the populace the most is the grandeur and opulence of the Casino de Monte Carlo. When it was built in the 1860s, however, only the moneyed class was able to cross its threshold.

There are two variations of this game - the European roulette and the American roulette. The former is played using a single-zero wheel, while the latter uses a double-zero roulette wheel. As its popularity arose, the zero compartment was added in order to raise the odds in favor of the house. Now, how is the game played? It is played when bets are placed to and a ball is circulated in the spinning wheel. The bets are won or lost depending on where the ball rests. The object is to bet on the particular red or black numbered partition inside which a small ball will settle. The roulette wheel consists of 36 partitions painted in turns in red and black. The roulette table may have five, six, or seven sets of chips for each player. If the balls falls into the zero partition, hen the player loses half their value unless the player chooses to wait for the next roll.

Spanning centuries, the roulette is considered as the most popular gambling game as it had captured millions of players the world over. At first look, the game may seem complicated. But as one plays the game, the intrigue surrounding it is unraveled…the player is charmed.
